Pete Brown (1940–2023) was a British poet, lyricist, and singer, best known for his collaborations with the rock band Cream and bassist Jack Bruce. He co-wrote several of Cream’s most iconic songs, including “Sunshine of Your Love,” “White Room,” and “I Feel Free.” Brown’s lyrical style was characterized by vivid imagery and poetic depth, contributing significantly to the psychedelic rock era of the 1960s.

Beyond his work with Cream, Brown formed bands such as Pete Brown & His Battered Ornaments and Pete Brown & Piblokto!, exploring jazz-rock and progressive music. He also collaborated with artists like Graham Bond and Procol Harum, and continued to write and perform music throughout his life.
